REGULAR
EVENT
Maths Club is for 11-15 (school years 7-11) year olds who would like to get more confident with maths.
We provide a safe environment for young people to re-visit any maths topics they have missed, with our primary focus on using maths in practical applications. This means everything from shopping, playing darts or cards, using fractions, working out probability as well as shapes and areas. We can also help with money maths – such as calculating percentages. Some people will want to get comfortable with times table and others will be foucssing on equations. We support people wherever they are with their maths.
Maths Club is run by adult volunteers who regularly use maths in their work (but are not teachers). There are also a couple of 16 & 17 year old volunteers who are studying maths A-level to help with specific home-work related questions.
Maths Club is held every Monday during term-time at Thame Town Hall (on the first floor) between 5:15pm and 6:30pm.
If you would like to find out more, please contact:
MathsClub@ThameYouthProjects.org.uk or call 07442 256926.
We do like to know in advance who is planning on coming along, but will also welcome anyone who would like to drop in for a session to find out more. If you have any additional needs, please let us know and we will do our best to help.
No equipment is needed, but you are welcome to bring a pencil & pad and/or calculator if you would like to. It would be a good idea to bring a water bottle.
